The Need Of The Hour: Professionals To Fuel India’s Growth.
The need of the hour: professionals to fuel India’s growth.
At English With Us, debate and group discussion is a daily routine for us because it leads you to healthy discussion. I was with a group of students from 9th standard till 12th standard and we were debating on choosing Politics as a career. The group was highly intelligent, well aware of the importance of having great communication and presentation skills, innovative and very competitive. But, to my dismay, each and every student chose to speak against politics as a career option. Their arguments were very valid and hard hitting. Covered all aspects of what is wrong with the politics and politicians of the country. Each viewpoint was backed with relevant examples, exactly the way I have taught them how to debate with confidence. But somewhere, my mind was visualising them as fully grown professionals with a few years of experiences and existing as a pack of the minority tax payers. And who will keep on criticizing the politicians at every opportunity that they will get.
My point is simple. Unless and until we convince the best among this generation, that they are needed at all levels of governance to cleanse the system, to choose politics as their honest livelihood, to become career politicians, not to criticize but clean the system from inside, this dirty and filthy system is never going to be corrected. Till that time, we will keep on electing actors, a few worshipped personalities, people belonging to a dynasty, no matter how undeserving they are. And our democracy will remain tainted. I will wait for that day when we will have professional governance which would power our great nation to the next level.
